Blake Nix

About the Artist

Blake Nix is a singer/songwriter/guitar and bass player based out of Huntsville, AL. Blake currently tours with the international rock-and-roll band Sticky Fingers and performs locally for both public and private venues. He draws from a wide range of musical influences, from rock bands such as AC/DC and Led Zeppelin to singer/songwriters like Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell.

Blake's most recent album, "Mr. Adams' Blues," includes nine of Blake's own songs. Its sound is reminiscent of the Beatles, but with a slight rock edge. The album encapsulates the journey of love, loss, and the reflection that comes when it's all "long gone." Says Blake, "Each song on the album stands on its own, but there's a story there if you listen from start to finish. There's a longing portrayed in the first few songs, which is briefly resolved before turning to feelings of regret and loss by the end of the album."

In addition to songwriting and performing, Blake offers bass and guitar instruction. His student webiste can be found at blakenix.org.
